Nessun Dorma
I’m betting Britain’s Got Talent will never be shown in Singapore, so I’m just going to spoil a bit of it for you… Here’s Paul Potts, arguably the most amazing amateur talent I’ve ever seen on television.
He’s singing Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, arguably the most famous tenor operatic aria - it’s Luciano Pavarotti’s trademark song, but somehow Paul manages to infuse an emotional depth that just makes the lyrics of the song so much more meaningful. Especially that last bit when he repeatedly sings “vincerĂ²”, which means “I will win!” Whoa… finding it really hard to hold back tears at that point.
Well, enjoy!

This might not be your kind of amateur talent, but check out this Chinese guy! Am hoping he wins!

Hmz… hasn’t indian idol ended for a while already?
Also, yeah Paul beat out cutie Connie Talbot or something about 2 months back… I’d have to say Connie was an early favourite, but Paul is a constant performer with a great story behind him…

Yeah, the Bollywood Chinese dude got featured in the papers the other day…
As for Paul, heh… just goes to show what reality tv does for you… there’s a huge controversy over how “amateur” he really is.

Bollywood Chinese guy got booted out a couple of days ago..
Yeah, and what’s a fat guy with a voice like that selling phones?!

I would say “giving other fat guys with voices like that hope”, but I don’t quite have a voice like that. I think we’re kinda equal on the fats, though.
