I can’t believe April’s out.

Some of you may remember that I was a huge fan of the original season of America’s Next Top Model.

Well, Season 2 is coming to a close, with only 3 contestants left. I have no problem with these 3 contestants - as runner-ups. I felt the one eliminated last night should have been the winner of the competition.

April Wilkner - in my mind, the only one who could be a Top Model.

The 1/2 Japanese, 1/2 European (Irish, Scottish, Germanic and Welsh) accounts executive from Miami Beach was poised, intelligent and a quick study. Having had zero modelling experience before the show, it was amazing she lasted so long, and yet, hardly surprising.

April’s flaw, or at least the one the judges kept harping on, was her tendency to over-analyse everything. Flaw? Pffft. I think that’s exactly what models need to do. They need to stop being classified as bimbotic airheads and start showing how smart they truly are - if at all.

Her flaw should have been April’s strength. Instead, the judges kept on resisting this new breed of model and eventually eliminated her.

Pity.

Weird, those cold, cold eyes really turned me off. It’s not a matter that they blame her for thinking, really, I think she’s just thinks too much.

i’m not being sexist or anything, but when it comes to being a model, well… sexuality tends to matter… more.

while one might come to know her as intelligent via the course of the program, if she was just to be another face in the magazine, would one then have noticed her while she tries to make you feel puny with her “layzer” eyes?

I’m kinda inclined to cold eyes myself. Heh. Too bad I didn’t catch the episode…
